The Imperial Treasury

The Kunstkammer Wien is the most important collection of its kind in the world, modelled on the chambers of art and curiosities of the late Middle Ages, the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Guests experience a world of beauty and wit, curiosities, and wonder.

The State Hall of the National Library

The baroque hall is known as one of the most beautiful and historical libraries in the world. Emperor Karl VI commissioned Joseph Emanuel Fischer von Erlach to build this jewel of baroque architecture to house the imperial library. The ceiling frescoes were painted by the court artist, Daniel Gran in 1730. Today, the State Hall is home to some 200,000 books, including the 15,000-volume collection of Prince Eugene of Savoy.

Albertina

From the Habsburg's resplendent interiors to the Batliner collection. Albert of Saxe-Teschen had this magnificent palace built around 1800, which his adopted son Archduke Karl furnished in the style of the French Empire. Joseph Danhauser was commissioned to fill the palace with expensive furniture and parquet flooring. Today, 20 sumptuous state rooms take you back to the resplendent classicism of the early 19th century. The Batliner collection is one of the most important collections of paintings from the classic modern period. It is the core of the permanent exhibition which consists of nearly 500 artworks, ranging from French Impressionism to contemporary art.

Belvedere Palace

Belvedere Palace holds one of the most significant collections of Austrian art, ranging from the Middle Ages to the present day. The world's largest Gustav Klimt collection is the centrepiece of the 'Art around 1900' exhibition in the Upper Belvedere. The Academy of Fine Arts
